The job of a Webmaster

by admin on July 20, 2011

We are all familiar with websites.  They are what we view when we search for something online. All these sites have been created by someone for a particular reason, whether it be for personal reasons or for a business.  The person who comes in to improve the performance of a website is called a webmaster.  He knows how to analyze the website speed and how to optimize it and he does this by calculating the time it takes for the webpage to load.

This person can also monitor the uptime of a website to make sure the availability of the server is at, or very near, one-hundred percent.  A website that is too large will take time to load and this can cause the person waiting to stop and go elsewhere.

A webmaster can also be the builder of a website and each one will operate differently.  For a business site, it will only contain information about that business and an e-commerce site will be one that sells products that were made by that business.  The webmaster will also be the one to set up a service that takes online payments and we see that all the time with PayPal.
